For Hurricane Sandy, like 9/11, men like these came from all over the country to help in the devastation and cleanup. If it were not for them and their heroic deeds, countless towns and people would still be without power. When the lights went out in my house I felt that it's soul had been taken. I thank them and am indebted to them for bringing it back home: The rescue team from S. Carolina having lunch @ The Pioneer in Warwick, NY.
It's been a crazy busy wedding season and I've had little time to bake....until I saw this recipe on one of my fav food blogs NOT WITHOUT SALT..What to do with all my apples?...so I couldn't resist! You must try it! With some chai tea it is simply divine...so very easy to make...I used my very neglected Bundt pan...remember this? ENJOY!
Serenely located in the quiet foothills of Bedford, NY.lies the The Bedford Post Inn. Richard Gere and Carey Lowell renovated this old colonial dutch house from the 18th century, into a luxury inn, two farm to table restaurants and yoga studio. A main attraction is executive chef Jeremy McMillan's simple and rustic plates of grilled broccoli, fresh oysters and duck fat biscuits, to name a few. Instead of taking a plane to either the carribean, Italy or Spain...spend the weekend here and you feel like you could be in any of those places!! Wet Plate portrait of Jeremy by Francesco Mastalia.
