At Francine & Ruben's wedding I remember that everything was sweetly "orange"! The flowers, the cupcakes, the flowers surrounding the ridiculously delicious food by Sweetbasil, Homestudio's brick wall and Francine's flip flops. She needed them for our escapade around the meatpacking district ending in our walking up to the Highline which was sublime! We all laughed the whole time. Very orange indeed!
We decided to go berry picking up at Och's orchard and invited Peter & Cara to join in on the picking with their two great kids: Henry & Kate. I loved Kate's red dress and the hats we brought to shade the kids from the hot sun....I couldn't help but steal a few shots...
When Karen Joyce told me she and Scott's wedding reception was going to be held at the restaurant Country (tucked away in the Carlton Hotel), I thought "how great..the country now follows me where ever I go..since I moved to the Hudson Valley 2 years ago! The ceremony took place in the little quaint church directly across the street and afterwards everyone walked over to the restaurant and were greeted with the best drinks and down to earth, farm fresh food, this side of the Hudson. A great day at Country in the city!!
The new summer 09' issue of Elegant Bride is on the newstands now and I'm so excited that Chelsey and Alvin's wedding is featured in the real weddings section. Thank you to Claudia Grimaldi for the feature and Michaela Garibaldi for the great story, and of course: Chelsey and Alvin for having such a beautiful wedding day filled with love "and ribbons" in Italy!
Since I moved to the Hudson Valley I seem to be shooting a few more weddings there, than usual. I guess that's how the universe works. Russ & Nickeshea were married at The Castle On The Hudson with a small party of close family. It was a quite simple afternoon gathering in a big castle. Intimate and grand! The day started out very rainy and cleared up beautifully for Nickeshea to toss her bouquet to her bridesmaids.
